Justifying

Definition

Used when: the source argument provides a subjective or speaker centric reason for the speaker's utterance or situation described in the target argument.

i.e. This is justifying That

Examples

Example 1:
(1) A: Do you want to go next?
(2) B: No.
(3) B: I'm not ready yet.
(3) --Justifying--> (2)

Distinctions

Motivation is intended for evidence presented in an objective fashion. Justifying is similar, but more appropriate for speaker-centric evidence, such as a speaker explaining the reasoning behind their actions or previous speech.
